NJ Workers' Compensation Rates 2025
Workers' Compensation
The NJ Division of Workers' Compensation has announced that the 2025 rates for workers' compensation benefits increased to a maximum of $1,159.00 per week for temporary and permanent disability and a minimum of $309.00.
Benefit rates for workers' compensation claims in New Jersey are determined by several factors, including the nature of the injury or illness, the severity of the disability, and the worker's average weekly wage. The New Jersey Division of Workers' Compensation sets the maximum and minimum benefit rates for different types of injuries and disabilities. These rates are based on the state's average weekly wage (SAWW) and are adjusted periodically to reflect economic changes.
The New Jersey state average weekly wage (SAWW) is calculated by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The SAWW determines the state's maximum and minimum benefit rates for workers' compensation claims. To calculate the SAWW, the department collects wages earned by workers in the state and then uses this data to determine the average wage for all workers. The SAWW is then adjusted periodically to reflect changes in the economy and the wage data.
