American Bar Association Establishes The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers

Jon Gelman, Author and Litigator, Installed as Fellow

NAPLES, FL.,March 2, 2007 – The College of Workers’ Compensation Attorneys announced today that Jon L. Gelman has been inducted as a fellow of the national organization at its first annual induction dinner.

The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers has been established to honor those attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice in the field of workers’ compensation. Members have been nominated for the outstanding trails they have developed in their practice of twenty years, or longer, representing plaintiffs, defendants, serving judges or acting for the benefit of all in education, overseeing agencies and developing legislation. These individuals have convinced their peers, the bar, bench, and public that they posses the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards, character, integrity, professional experience and leadership.

Gelman, a Wayne, New Jersey attorney, brings to the organization his 36 years of experience in the litigation of serious and catastrophic injuries resulting from work-related exposures and trauma. He has authored three editions of the 3-volume NJ treatise Workers’ Compensation Law (West-Thomson), and co-authored the 3-volume national treatise Modern Workers Compensation Law (West-Thomson). He is listed in Best Lawyers of America and Who’s Who in America. Gelman is a member of the New Jersey Association of Trial Lawyers of America and American Association for Justice and the past Vice-President of the Workplace Injury Law & Advocacy Group.

The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers received financial support from the Labor and Employment Section and from the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association.
